Companions

Companions are rare creatures that bond to you after battle. One is deployed at a time, and rather than fighting as a separate unit, it folds its gear and passives straight into your power. They level to 100 and earn build-shaping passives at milestones.

How to get one

After encounters, a creature may submit — offer to join you. It's a rare roll, but your first companion is guaranteed within ~24 hours of play (a one-time mercy floor). When one submits you have a 48-hour window to accept (bond and name it) or release it.

Roster & deploying

You have a small roster: one deployed companion plus a couple on the bench, with extras kept in your collection. Your first bond auto-deploys. You can swap your active companion while idle.

Leveling

Your deployed companion earns 75% of your per-tick XP; benched companions earn a reduced share. They level to 100, growing stronger and unlocking passive slots as they go.

Stances

Each companion has a stance — attack, defend, or support. Its main effect is to weight the passive pool your companion rolls from at milestones, nudging it toward offense, defense, or utility.

Companion gear & passives

Companions equip their own gear (head, chest, neck, and a weapon), drawn from your shared inventory. As they level they roll passives at 10 milestones (levels 10, 20, … 100) from a large catalog; duplicates stack. Everything they carry and earn is added to your combat stats while they're deployed.

Tip

Pathfinder's Beastmaster specialization is built around companions — if you love the pet system, that's the spec that rewards it most.
