World Sense

World Sense is battlefield awareness — how well your character reads a fight and acts at the right moment. In solo play it is quiet. In raids it is the single most important stat, because nearly every check in a raid rolls against it.

Why raids live and die on it

Raid encounters constantly ask the raid to react, and each of those moments is resolved by rolling the responsible raider's World Sense against the encounter's difficulty. Every one of these is a World Sense check:

Tip

Gear that would be filler anywhere else is raid-critical here. Before your first raid night, take every point of World Sense you can find — Intuition, affixes, inscriptions.

The three kinds of awareness

  • Positional. Reading where danger will land and placing yourself to minimize your team's exposure — literally the raid's positioning gate.
  • Situational. Knowing whether to strike now or wait for the tank to secure the enemy's attention. High World Sense also reduces the threat your damage generates, because an aware raider paces themselves.
  • Timing. Acting on the right target at the right moment — a healer favoring who is truly in danger, a striker committing the instant the boss is locked.

Tanks: awareness as mitigation

A raid tank's World Sense does something no other stat does: it reduces incoming damage for the entire raid by up to roughly a third. A tank who reads the fight is protecting twenty people at once, not just themselves.

Outside raids

  • The Descent — party World Sense feeds boss awareness modifiers. Clearing the threshold makes a boss meaningfully easier.
  • World zones — a background stat. Do not chase it for solo expeditions.

Raising it

Intuition grants +2 World Sense per point, and it also appears on gear affixes and inscriptions. The Oracle is the natural reader of battlefields, but every role — tank, healer, damage — wants World Sense the moment they step into a raid.
