Endurance
Your Endurance pool
You start with a base of 100, plus any Endurance from gear, inscriptions, and the Fortitude attribute (+1 per point). A support-stance companion adds more.
Recovery: once per tick, at the start
This is the part players miss. Endurance does not trickle back during a fight. It refills once, at the very start of each 15-minute tick, by:
5% of max Endurance + Endurance Regen
Then it drains across that tick's encounters. So within a single tick your Endurance only goes down; it tops back up at the start of the next tick. (Fleeing a fight fully restores it.)
Drain: per encounter, by enemy rarity
| Enemy rarity | Endurance drained |
|---|---|
| Common | 3 |
| Rare | 8 |
| World boss | 20 |
Note
The hidden scaling curve
Here is why Endurance matters so much. Before each fight, your current Endurance fraction is turned into a multiplier on your offense and defense:
multiplier = 0.5 + 0.5 x (Endurance / max)^0.7
At full Endurance you fight at 100%. As it empties, your damage and mitigation modifiers slide toward a 50% floor:
| Endurance | You perform at |
|---|---|
| 100% | 100% |
| 75% | ~91% |
| 50% | ~81% |
| 25% | ~69% |
| 0% | 50% (floor) |
This multiplier scales your gear, talent, and attribute modifiers to damage and mitigation. It does not touch your base level power, raw Health, resistances, or threat — so you never fully collapse, but a drained character is meaningfully weaker on both ends.
Endurance in each mode
| Mode | How endurance behaves |
|---|---|
| World zones | You arrive fully rested on every deploy. Drains per encounter, recovers once per tick. |
| Raids | Burns per trash wave and per boss. A wipe fully restores health and endurance, so wounds only persist within one attempt. |
| The Descent | Marathon runs accumulate fatigue over a long descent. |
Tip
Do I need more Endurance or more Regen?
Simple test: estimate a typical tick's drain (four commons = 12; a rare-heavy tick can be 30+) and compare to your per-tick recovery (5% of max + Regen). If you routinely finish ticks near empty, your later fights are running at reduced power. Fix it by raising either:
- Endurance (max pool) — a bigger buffer so you never bottom out, and a bigger 5% recovery.
- Endurance Regen — more topped up each tick, best when your pool is already healthy.
